영문 초록

Given the fact that focus-on-form is currently the major trend for teaching English grammar, it is important to investigate and revisit the characteristics that invoke noticing grammar forms and meanings from the point of view of teachers. The goal of this study is to seek for a feasible solution to the problem of how to use movies to overcome the situational limitation of practicing English output in EFL and to teach English grammar based on a focus-on-form approach in order for teachers to be able to apply it in classrooms easily and effectively. To achieve this goal, six graduate students teaching English participated in a case study. Based on observation of participants and their journals, this qualitative research explores the potential benefits of using movies in focus-on-form and tries to realize and maximize the effects of focus-on-form. Some suggestions for pre-service and in-service teachers and practitioners are offered.
