Recently, many players are trading game money, items which were acquired through online game(for example Go-Stop, Lineage Game) for real money. Many people suggest that these behaviors make Game become Gambling and not prevent playing from Gambling, so money changing acts should be strictly prohibited.
Therefore, the Prohibiton Clauses of Business of Money Changing on the Game Industry Promotion Act of 2007 was introduced for the purpose of preventing game from becoming gambling. The clauses prevent the material or formless results that are obtained on the use of game from making a business of money change, intermediation of money change, or re-purchase of it. The material or formless results mean points, prizes, game moneys, or game data that is obtained on the abnormal use of game.
But others argue that players have their ownership of game items and the behaviors trading game items for money are economic actions, so these should not be regarded as illegal. These opinions are acceptable, but not enough for promotion of game industry.
I think, the Prohibiton Clauses of Business of Money Changing on the Game Industry Promotion Act of 2007 will at least have positive influence to the future of game industry because it makes game as not gambling.
