성인학습자의 교육참여동기와 자기주도학습의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 성인학습자의 교육참여동기와 자기주도학습의 관계를 규명하고, 성인학습자의 교육참여동기와 자기주도학습의 정도는 연령별 및 과정별에따 라 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 분석하는 데 있다. 20세~70세 사이의 성인학습자 466명(남 198명, 여 268명)을 대상으로 교육참여동기 검사와 자기주도학습 검사를 실시하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS win 10.0에 의해 상관분석, 중다회귀분석, 변량분석이 수행되었으며 분석결과 다음과 같은 사실이 밝혀졌다. 첫째, 성인학습자의 교육참여동기가 높을수록 그들의 자기주도학습 정도도 높다. 둘째 , 성인학습자의 교육참여동기는 자기주도학습의 전체변량 중 29%를 설명하고, 교육참여동기 하위요인들의 자기주도학습에 대한 상대적인 공헌도는 인지적 흥미, 자극 순이다. 셋째, 성인학습자의 교육참여동기는 연령별(20대, 30대, 40대, 50대 이상)과 과정별(학점은행제, 전문자격증, 생활교양)에 따라 유의한 차이가 있다. 넷째, 성인학습자의 자기주도학습은 연령별과 과정별에 따라 유의한 차이가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between motivation for life-long education and self-directed learning among adult learners, and to explore the differences of their motivation for life-long education and self-directed learning among the ages and types of courses. In order to accomplish this purpose, the questions that this study addresses to answer are as follows: First, is there a significant correlation between adult learners' motivation for life-long education and their self-directed learning? Second, are there significant differences among their ages and types of courses(e.g., credit banking system, qualification, and liberal arts) in the degree of the motivation for life-long education? Third, are there significant differences among their ages and three types of courses in the degree of the self-directed learning. The subjects of the present study consisted of 466 adult learners ranged from twenty to seventy years-old, including 198 males and 268 females. The survey instruments used for this study were Motivation for Life-long Education S::ale and Self-directed Learning S::ale. The reliability coefficients(Cronbach a) of these scales were .79 and .82, respectively. The statistical methods employed for data analysis were the correlation analysis, multiple correlation analysis, and ANOVA by SPSS win 10.0. The results of the study are as follows: Firstly, there is a significant positive correlation between adult learners' motivation for life-long education and their self-directed learning. Secondly, there are significant differences among their ages and three types of courses in the degree of the motivation for life-long education. Finally, there are significant differences among their ages and three types of courses in the degree of the self-directed learning.
