국문 초록

연구목적: 세계화는 ‘획일화’ ‘표준화’ ‘미국화’ ‘맥도날드화’라는 비판이 있기에 올바른 세계화를 모색해야한다. 이러한 노력으로 출현한 것이 ‘글로컬라이제이션(glocalization)’이다. 글로컬리즘은 지구성의 보편성과 지역성의 특수성을 통전하려는 노력이다. 한국의 기독교는 보편적이고 지구적인 복음이 한국이라는 지역적 특수성에 뿌리를 내려 토착화하였다. 한국에서 이루어진 신앙적 실천과 신학을 글로컬의 관점으로 분석하여 K-글로컬 기독교를 위한 토대를 만들어 나갈 필요가 있다. 연구 방법: 표준화로서의 세계화를 비판하는 로버트슨(Roland Robertson)의 글로컬리즘을 ‘보편성의 특수화’와 ‘특수성의 보편화’로 규정하고, 피테르서(Jan Nederveen Pieterse)의 글로컬리즘을 ‘혼종적 글로컬리즘’으로 규정한다. 이를 근거로 새벽 기도회가 한국의 전통 종교문화의 영향임을 분석하고, 민중신학의 메시아론이 한국인의 ‘우리’와 ‘집단성’을 토대로 하였음을 밝혀본다. 결론 및 제언: 새벽기도회와 민중 메시아론과 같이 K-글로컬 신앙과 신학을 더 발전시키기 위하여 한국 기독교는 ‘혼합주의’로부터 자유로워져야 함을 결론으로 제언하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Globalization faces criticism for promoting ‘homogenization,’ ‘standardization,’ ‘Americanization,’ and ‘McDonaldization,’ highlighting the need to seek an authentic form of globalization. Emerging from these efforts is ‘glocalization.’ Glocalism represents an endeavor to integrate the universality of the global with the specificity of the local. Korean Christianity has contextualized itself as the universal and global Gospel took root in the local specificity of Korea. It is necessary to analyze the faith practices and theology developed in Korea from a glocal perspective to establish a foundation for “K-Glocal Christianity.” This article defines Roland Robertson’s glocalism which criticizes —globalization as standardization—as the “particularization of the universal” and the “universalization of the particular,” while defining Jan Nederveen Pieterse’s glocalism as “hybrid glocalism.” Based on these frameworks, this article analyzes the early morning prayer service (Saebyeok Gi-do) as an influence of traditional Korean religious culture and demonstrates that the messianism of Minjung theology is grounded in the Korean concepts of ‘We-ness’ (Uri) and ‘collectivism.’ To further develop K-Glocal faith and theology, such as early morning prayer services and Minjung messianism, this article concludes by suggesting that Korean Christianity must liberate itself from the constraints of ‘syncretism.’
