국문 초록

이 연구는 청각장애학교 교사의 성격특성, 동기부여, 수어학습 간의 구조적 관계를 분석하고 동기부여의 매개효과를 검증하기 위하여 수행되었다. 전국의 청각장애학교 교사 225명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문지는 성격특성, 동기부여, 그리고 수어학습 관련 문항으로 구성하였다. 수집된 자료는 탐색적 및 확인적 요인분석, 그리고 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 성격특성은 동기부여에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 동기부여는 수어학습에 또한 유의미한 정적 영향을 제공하였다. 특히 성격특성과 수어학습의 관계에서 동기부여가 매개 변수로 작용하였다. 또한 성격 특성 중에서 긍정적 및 부정적 요인에 따른 수어학습 향상에 대한 차별성을 서술하였다. 결론적으로 이 연구는 청각장애학교 교사의 성격특성과 동기부여가 수어학습에 미치는 구조적 관계를 제시하면서, 수어교육에서 교사 개인의 심리적 요인을 고려한 맞춤형 교수전략 개발의 필요성을 또한 제안하고 있다.

영문 초록

This study was conducted to analyze the structural relationships among personality traits, learning motivation, and sign language learning of teachers at schools for the hearing impaired, and to verify the mediating effect of learning motivation. A survey was administered to 225 teachers working in schools for the hearing impaired across the country. The questionnaire consisted of items measuring personality traits (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness), learning motivation (communication needs and teacher accountability), and sign language learning (receptive and expressive abilities). The collected data were analyzed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, as well as a structural equation modeling (SEM) approach. The results revealed that personality traits had a significant positive effect on learning motivation, and learning motivation also had a significant positive effect on sign language learning. In particular, learning motivation functioned as a mediating variable in the relationship between personality traits and sign language learning. Furthermore, the study described differentiated effects of positive and negative personality factors on the improvement of sign language learning. In conclusion, this study identified the structural relationships among personality traits, learning motivation, and sign language learning of teachers at schools for the hearing impaired. It also emphasizes the necessity of developing customized instructional strategies in sign language education that take into account teachers’ individual psychological characteristics.
