기본심리욕구의 만족과 좌절 간의 관계에서 학업성취목표의 매개효과

국문 초록

이 연구는 체육수업 맥락에서 학생들이 지각하는 기본심리욕구 만족이 욕구 좌절로 이어지는 관계를 확인하고, 이 과정에서 성취목표의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 총 437명의 중·고등학생을 대상으로 2차시에 걸쳐 자료를 수집하였으며, 구조방정식모형을 적용하여 잠재변인 간 예측관계를 분석하고, 붓스트래핑을 통해 매개효과의 유의성을 검증하였다. 분석 결과, 첫째, 자율성과 관계성은 숙달목표를 정적으로, 수행회피목표를 부적으로 예측하였으며, 유능감은 수행접근목표와 수행회피목표를 모두 정적으로 예측하였다. 둘째, 숙달목표는 관계성 좌절을 부적으로 예측한 반면, 수행회피목표는 자율성 좌절과 유능감 좌절을 정적으로 예측하였다. 마지막으로, 숙달목표는 자율성과 관계성 좌절 간의 관계를, 수행회피목표는 관계성과 유능감 좌절 간의 관계를 유의하게 매개하는 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과는 체육수업 상황에서 숙달목표를 촉진하고 수행회피목표를 완화하는 교수적 접근이 학생들의 기본심리욕구 좌절을 예방하는 데 기여할 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the relationships between students’ perceptions of basic psychological need satisfaction and subsequent need frustration in the context of physical education classes, focusing on the mediating role of achievement goals. Data were collected from 437 middle and high school students over two time points. Structural equation modeling and bootstrapping were employed to examine predictive relationships and mediation effects. Results showed that autonomy and relatedness satisfaction positively predicted mastery goals and negatively predicted performance-avoidance goals, while competence satisfaction positively predicted both performance-approach and performance-avoidance goals. Mastery goals negatively predicted relatedness frustration, whereas performance-avoidance goals positively predicted autonomy and competence frustration. mastery goals significantly mediated the relationship between autonomy satisfaction and relatedness frustration, while performance-avoidance goals mediated the relationships between relatedness satisfaction and competence frustration. These findings highlight the importance of promoting mastery goals and reducing performance-avoidance goals to help prevent basic psychological need frustration among students, thereby supporting their psychological well-being.
