국문 초록

본 연구는 독립영화 <우리의 이름>과 <다음 소희>를 중심으로 특성화고 현장실습생의 실존적 위기를 고찰한다. 분석의 핵심 축은 수평적 모방 경쟁과 수직적·구조적 착취이다. 이를 규명하기 위해 르네 지라르(René Girard)의 모방 욕망 및 희생양 메커니즘 이론을 도입했다. 두 작품은 취업률 지표와 자본의 생산성 논리가 결탁하여 청년의 내면을 왜곡하는 다층적 중개 구조를 폭로한다. 학교와 담임교사는 ‘외적 중개자’로서 시스템의 요구를 학생에게 강제한다. 동일한 트랙에 갇힌 동료들은 ‘내적 중개자’이자 ‘짝패(Double)’로 작동한다. 이 구조는 내부적으로 타자의 욕망을 복제해 격돌하는 수평적 모방 경쟁을 유발한다. 동시에 외부적 으로는 주체를 기계적 소모품으로 환원시키는 수직적·구조적 착취 기제로 작동한다. 이 과정에서 개성과 차이가 소멸하며 공동체는 위기에 처한다. 시스템은 종수의 죽음, 소희의 자살, 영현 A의 배제 등 무고한 희생양을 양산한다. 이를 통해 구조적 모순을 은폐하고 체제를 공고히 유지한다. 하지만 두 작품은 서사적 결말에서 뚜렷한 변주를 보인다. <우리의 이름>은 분신 간의 수평적 모방 경쟁 속에서 예술을 통한 주체성 회복의 가능성을 보여준다. 반면 <다음 소희>는 자본이 가하는 수직적·구조적 착취와 희생양의 비극적 순환성을 냉철하게 고발한다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 자본과 제도에 의해 억압받는 특성화고등학교학생들의 소외 방식을 독립영화 특유의 미학적 시선을 통해 다층적으로 규명했다.

영문 초록

This study examines the existential crisis of field trainees from specialized high schools, focusing on the independent films Next Sohee and Our Name. The core axes of this analysis are horizontal mimetic rivalry and vertical/structural exploitation. To investigate this, the study introduces René Girard's theories of mimetic desire and the scapegoat mechanism. The two films expose a multi-layered structure of mediation in which employment rate indicators and the logic of capitalist productivity collude to distort the inner lives of young people. Schools and homeroom teachers, acting as ‘external mediators’, force the demands of the system onto students. Meanwhile, peers trapped on the same track function as both ‘internal mediators’ and ‘doubles’. This structure internally induces a horizontal mimetic rivalry where students replicate the desires of others and clash with one another. Simultaneously, externally, it operates as a vertical and structural mechanism of exploitation that reduces subjects to mechanical, expendable parts. In this process, individuality and differences are obliterated, plunging the community into crisis. Consequently, the system mass-produces innocent scapegoats—such as Jong-su's death, So-hee's suicide, and Young-hyun A's exclusion—thereby concealing its structural contradictions and consolidating its own existence. However, the two films display distinct variations in their narrative endings. Our Name demonstrates the possibility of reclaiming subjectivity through art amidst horizontal mimetic rivalry between doubles. Conversely, Next Sohee soberly denounces the vertical/structural exploitation imposed by capital and the tragic cyclical nature of the scapegoat mechanism. Ultimately, this study multi-dimensionally elucidates the modes of alienation experienced by specialized high school students oppressed by capital and institutions, viewed through the unique aesthetic lens of independent cinema.
