허수경 시의 상호텍스트성 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 허수경 산문과 소설 그리고 그의 다른 대담집 등의 문학 텍스트와 허수경의 시 텍스트 사이의 상호텍스트성(intertextuality)을 논의하고 이를 바탕으로 허수경 시가 가진 고유한 미학을 다시 정립하려는 데에 목적이 있다. 이에 본 논의는 허수경의 문학 텍스트는 변용과 차용을 거쳐 원 텍스트들의 의미를 시 텍스트에 창조적으로 전유하고 있음을 주목한다. 허수경의 시 텍스트는 산문 등의 원 텍스트에서 제시되었던 시적 주체의 ‘떠남의 의식’을 의미론적 관계로 변주하여 절대적 시를 추구하기 위해 어딘가로 떠나려는 열망을 재현한다. 허수경 시에서 상호텍스트성은 대화적 관계의 특수한 유형을 형성하면서 세계와 사회의 폭력을 글로 기록하고 증언하려는 ‘공감의 의식’으로 나타난다. 이런 논의는 ‘시는 사회와 어떤 관련을 맺고 무엇을 말해야 하는가?’를 이야기하는 허수경의 시적 전언을 주목하게 한다. 허수경 시의 공동체를 향한 윤리의식은 공동체 밖의 가난한 타자들의 삶의 위태로움과 취약성을 ‘목소리 내기’로 구현하면서 관철된다. 이처럼 원 텍스트에서부터 ‘시의 말하기’에 대한 진보적 자의식을 품고 있는 허수경의 발화법은 ‘타자와 함께하는 것이 시’임을 이야기하기 위해 끝없는 언어적 실험을 단행하였음을 증명하는 것은 물론, 이 시대의 시의 책임까지 점검하게 한다. 이에 본 연구는 허수경이 일관되게 추구하고자 했던 시의 고유한 독자성과 전위적인 시학을 새롭게 확인하였다는 데에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims to discuss the intertextuality between Heo Su-kyeong’s literary textssuch as her prose, novels, and other interview collections- and her poetic texts, and to reestablish the unique aesthetics of her poetry based on this. Accordingly, this study notes that Heo Su-kyeong’s literary texts creatively appropriate the meanings of original texts into poetic texts through transformation. The poetic text of Heo Su-kyeong embodies the yearning to leave somewhere in pursuit of poetry by varying the ‘consciousness of departure’ of the poetic subject into semantic relationships, which was presented in the original text such as prose. In the poetry, intertextuality forms a specific type of dialogical relationship and appears as a ‘consciousness of empathy’ that seeks to record and testify in writing about the violence of the world and society. This discussion draws attention to Heo Sukyeong’s poetic message, which addresses the question, “How should poetry relate to society, and what should it say?” The ethical consciousness of poetry is realized by embodying the precariousness and vulnerability of the lives of poor others outside the community through ‘voicing out.’ Thus Heo Su-kyeong’s speech acts which harbors a progressive self-consciousness regarding the ‘speaking of poetry’ from the original text, not only proves that she has undertaken endless linguistic experiments to convey that ‘poetry is being with the other,’ but also leads us to examine the responsibility of poetry of this era. In conclusion, this study is significant in newly confirming the unique distinctiveness of poetry and the avant-garde poetics that Heo Su-kyeong consistently sought to pursue.
