국문 초록

The aim of this study is to examine the interaction between prosodic structure and speech acts in Korean long-form negative interrogatives containing -ci anh-. The direct speech act, which is realized through the compositional meaning of the individual elements constituting the Korean long-form negative interrogative, is that of a question. In contrast, the indirect speech acts, which are contextually realized through the overall structure, express confirmative, agreement, and assertive. This study seeks to analyze the prosodic structures formed by these direct and indirect speech acts in the long-form negative interrogatives. In other words, it aims to demonstrate that an utterance, even with the same surface structure, can perform different speech acts depending on its prosodic patterns and prosodic property, thereby illuminating the relationship between speech acts and prosody
