국문 초록

본 연구는 급속한 전 세계적 디지털 전환 시대를 배경으로 온라인 미술교육의 교육학적 도전과 새로운 가능성을 탐구한다. 코로나19 팬데믹 이후 국내 고교학점제를 도입한 고등학교에서 온라인 교육과정으로 미술교과를 가르친 교사들의 교수·학습 사례를 중심으로, 온라인 환경에서 교육과정의 의도, 수업 전달, 학생 학습 성과 사이에 발생하는 교육학적 불일치와 전통적 미술실에서는 잘 드러나지 않던 쟁점들을 심층적으로 검토하였다. 사례 분석을 통해 온라인 미술교육에서 개별화된 피드백 제공의 어려움, 학습 자료와 재료 접근성의 차이, 디지털 기술 숙련도의 격차와 같은 구조적 문제가 학생 참여도와 교육 격차로 이어질 수 있음을 확인하였다. 동시에 아날로그 매체 기반의 실기 표현 활동을 온라인 형식으로 전환하는 과정에서 드러나는 물질적·기술적 제약을 분석하고, 교사들이 디지털 도구 활용, 학생 주체성 강화, 윤리적 디지털 시민성 교육 등을 통해 온라인 교육 환경에 창의적으로 대응한 방식을 조명하였다. 이를 바탕으로 온라인 미술교육이 지닌 새로운 교육적·예술적 가능성을 논의하며, 온라인 미술교육을 기존 미술수업의 축소판이나 단순한 플랫폼 전환이 아니라 새로운 예술 경험과 교수·학습 방식이 구성되는 변혁적 공간으로 재개념화할 것을 제안한다.

영문 초록

This study examines the pedagogical challenges and emerging possibilities of online art education in the context of rapid global digital transformation. Drawing on teaching and learning cases from Korean high schools, the study investigates pedagogical misalignments among curricular intentions, instructional delivery, and student learning outcomes in online environments. The analysis identifies structural challenges—including difficulties in providing individualized feedback, disparities in access to learning materials and art supplies, and gaps in digital technical proficiency—that may contribute to reduced student engagement and educational inequities. At the same time, the study explores material and technological constraints involved in translating studio-based, analog art practices into online formats and highlights how teachers creatively responded by leveraging digital tools, fostering student agency, and promoting ethical digital citizenship. Based on these findings, the study argues that online art education should be reconceptualized not as a diminished version of traditional art instruction, but as a transformative space in which new artistic experiences and pedagogical practices can emerge.
