국문 초록

본 연구는 노후장애불안과 삶의 만족도 간의 관계에서 사회활동 참여의 매개효과를 실증적으로 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 충남 태안 지역에 거주하는 60세 이상의 남녀 성인 172명의 설문지를 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS Wins와 SPSS PROCESS 4번 모델을 사용하여 빈도분석, t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson 상관분석, 매개효과 등을 분석하였다. 분석을 통하여 나타난 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사 대상의 사회인구학적 특성 중 경제상태, 신체적 건강, 정신적 건강, 종교, 배우자 유무 등에 따라 노후장애불안, 삶의 만족도, 사회활동 참여에서 일부 유의미한 차이가 나타났다. 둘째. 주요 변수 간 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 노후장애불안은 삶의 만족도 및 사회활동 참여와 유의미한 부적 상관관계가 있었고, 사회활동 참여는 삶의 만족도와 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 셋째, 노후장애불안과 삶의 만족도의 관계에서 사회활동 참여는 매개효과가 있었다. 본 연구는 노인의 노후장애불안이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향에서 사회활동 참여가 매개하고 있음을 밝혔다. 이러한 연구 결과를 토대로, 사회활동 참여를 개선함으로써 궁극적으로 노인들의 삶의 만족도를 향상시키는 노인복지 정책 수립에 유용한 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

This study aims to examine the mediating effect of social activity participation on the relationship between anxiety about disability with aging and life satisfaction. To achieve this purpose, we analyzed the responses of 172 adults aged 60 or above living in Taean region of Chungcheongnam-do. The data were analyzed using SPSS Wins and SPSS PROCESS macro 4, through frequency analysis, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation, and mediation effect. The main research findings were as follows. First, the participants’ sociodemographic characteristics showed statistically significant differences in anxiety about disability with aging, life satisfaction, and social activity participation. Second, correlation analysis revealed a significant negative relationship between anxiety about aging-related disability and both life satisfaction and social activity participation, while social activity participation showed a significant positive correlation with life satisfaction. Third, participation in social activities significantly mediated the relationship between anxiety about disability with aging and life satisfaction. The findings of this study showed that participation in social activities mediates the impact of the relationship between anxiety about disability with aging and life satisfaction. Finally, this study is expected to serve as foundational data for the development of elderly welfare policies that promote social participation in later life, thereby reducing anxiety about aging-related disability and enhancing life satisfaction among older adults.
