국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 청소년기 스마트폰 과의존에 따른 집단을 분류하고 분류된 잠재계층에 영향을 미치는 요인을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 한국아동패널 14차년도 자료에 조사된 중학생 1,301명을 선정하여 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 청소년기 스마트폰 과의존에 따른 잠재 프로파일 수는 3개로 나타났고 고위험, 중위험, 저위험 집단으로 명명하였다. 그 후 스마트폰 과의존에 따른 각 계층별 결정요인 탐색을 위해 낮은 또래 애착, 공감 능력을 독립변수로 투입하여 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 낮은 또래 애착 경향이 높을수록 ‘저위험 집단’ 대비 ‘중위험 집단’에 속할 가능성이 유의하게 높았다. 공감은 ‘저위험 집단’ 대비 ‘중위험 집단’ 예측에서 유의하지 않았다. ‘저위험 집단’ 대비 ‘고위험 집단’에서는 또래 애착과 공감 변인의 예측력이 모두 유의하지 않았다. 본 연구결과는 스마트폰 과의존 수준을 중심으로 청소년의 다양한 하위집단의 특성을 입체적으로 파악하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한, 스마트폰 과의존에 따른 효과적인 상담 개입을 위해서는 청소년의 낮은 또래 애착을 중점적으로 고려할 필요성을 시사한다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 한계점, 후속 연구 방향에 대해 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to classify adolescents into distinct groups according to their level of smart-phone overdependence and investigated the factors affecting the classified latent classes. Data were drawn from 1,301 middle school students who participated in the 14th wave of the Panel Study of Korean Children. Latent profile analysis (LPA) identified three profiles of smartphone overdependence, labeled as high-risk, moderate-risk, and low-risk groups. Subsequently, multinomial logistic regression was conducted to explore the determinants of group membership, with low peer attachment and empathy entered as independent variables. The results indicated that adolescents with higher levels of low peer attachment were significantly more likely to belong to the moderate-risk group compared with the low-risk group. However, empathy did not significantly predict membership in the moderate-risk group. In addition, neither peer attachment nor empathy significantly predicted membership in the high-risk group compared with the low-risk group. These findings provide a multidimensional understanding of adolescents’ subgroup characteristics based on smart-phone overdependence levels. They also highlight the importance of considering adolescents’ low peer attachment as a key focus for effective counseling and intervention strategies targeting smart-phone overdependence. Finally, the study discusses its limitations and directions for future research.
