교제폭력의 단계적 심화 위험 예측 - 폭력의 중첩 패턴을 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 교제폭력이 단일 사건이 아니라 여러 유형이 중첩되고 단계적으로 심화되는 '과정'이라는 관점에서, 폭력 유형 간의 중첩 및 연관성 패턴을 실증적으로 규명하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2015년 '데이트 폭력 실태조사' 자료를 활용하여, 주성분 분석(PCA)으로 폭력 유형을 '경한/중한'의 강도에 따라 세분화하였다. 이후 연관성 분석(association analysis)을 적용하여 5개 폭력 유형(정서적, 경한 신체적, 중한 신체적, 경한 성적, 중한 성적) 간의 연관 규칙을 도출하였다. 분석 결과, '정서적 폭력'에서 '경한 신체적/성적 폭력'으로, 다시 '경한 폭력'에서 '중한 폭력'으로 이어지는 유의미한 단계적 연관 규칙이 확인되었다. 특히, '정서적 폭력', '경한 신체적 폭력', '경한 성적 폭력'이 모두 중첩될 경우, '중한 신체적 폭력'으로 이어질 신뢰도(0.349)와 향상도(6.014)가 급격히 증가하였다. 이는 경한 폭력의 중첩 패턴이 향후 중대 범죄로의 발전을 예측하는 핵심적인 '사전 지표'임을 실증한다. 본 연구 결과는 교제폭력 위험성 평가 및 조기 개입을 위한 '안전 조치'의 실증적 근거를 제공한다는 점에서 시사점을 갖는다.

영문 초록

This study aims to empirically investigate the overlap and escalation pathways of Intimate Partner Violence(IPV), conceptualizing it as a 'process' of overlapping types and association patterns rather than isolated incidents. Using data from the 2015 'Dating Violence Survey', we first categorized violence types by severity ('mild'/'severe') using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Subsequently, association rule mining was applied to derive interaction rules among the five classified types: emotional, mild physical, severe physical, mild sexual, and severe sexual violence. The analysis confirmed a significant association pattern from emotional violence to mild physical/sexual violence, and further from mild violence to severe violence. Most importantly, the overlap of violence types significantly increased the likelihood of escalation. When 'emotional', 'mild physical', and 'mild sexual' violence all overlapped, the confidence (0.349) and lift (6.014) for 'severe physical violence' increased dramatically. This empirically demonstrates that the overlap pattern of mild violence serves as a key pre-indicator for predicting the risk of escalation to serious violence. These findings provide a critical empirical basis for safety interventions, enhancing risk assessment tools and justifying early intervention strategies for IPV.
