국문 초록

본 연구는 항만기업 중 일반 창고업(산업분류코드 52101)을 중심으로 2020년부터 2023년까지 4개년 데이터를 활용하여 경영 효율성과 생산성 수준을 정량적으로 분석하였다. 분석 방법으로는 자료포락분석(DEA) 기법 중 CCR 및 BCC 모형을 적용하였으며, 투입지향과 산출지향 방식 모두를 활용하였다. 투입변수로는 종사자수와 자본금을, 산출변수로는 매출액과 영업이익을 설정하였다. 분석 결과, 일반 창고업 기업들은 전반적으로 낮은 수준의 기술적 효율성을 보였으며, 특히 영업이익 기준에서는 효율성이 더욱 저조하게 나타났다. 규모수익 분석에서는 규모수익 체증이 다수 관찰되어, 일정 수준 이상의 규모 확장이 효율성 제고에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있음을 시사하였다. 또한 산출지향 모형에서 투입지향보다 상대적으로 높은 효율성 값이 도출되어 자원의 전략적 활용이 중요함을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 일반 창고업의 경영 개선과 효율성 향상을 위한 정책 수립 및 전략적 방향 설정에 실증적 근거를 제공한다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the managerial efficiency and productivity of port-related companies in South Korea, focusing on the general warehousing industry (KSIC code 52101) over a four-year period from 2020 to 2023. Utilizing Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), both CCR and BCC models were applied under input- and output-oriented approaches. The input variables included the number of employees and paid-in capital, while the output variables were sales revenue and operating profit. The analysis revealed generally low levels of technical efficiency, with particularly poor performance in terms of operating profit. The results of the returns to scale analysis showed that many firms exhibited increasing returns, indicating that expanding operational scale may lead to improved efficiency. Additionally, the output-oriented models yielded higher efficiency scores compared to the input-oriented models, suggesting the importance of strategically utilizing resources rather than merely minimizing input levels. This study provides empirical insights that can serve as a foundation for developing management strategies and policy directions aimed at enhancing the efficiency and competitiveness of general warehousing companies within the port logistics sector.
