한국 탈가정 청소년 영화의 갈등 구조: 2011-2023년 독립영화·예술영화를 중심으로

국문 초록

본고의 주제는 영화에 재현되는 탈가정 청소년의 탈가정 이후 갈등 구조를 구체적으로 분석하는 것이다. 연구의 대상은 탈가정 청소년 영화 6편, 즉 <거인>, <꿈의 제인>, <박화영>, <어른들은 몰라요>, <최선의 삶>, <한공주>이다. 연구의 방법은 그레마스의 행동자 모델에서 욕망의 축, 주체의 축, 소통의 축이라는 세 축과 주체/대상, 조력자/적대자, 발신자/수신자라는 6개의 행동자 대립이다. 본고에서 그레마스 행동자 모델을 연구 방법으로 하여 탈가정 청소년 영화의 갈등 구조를 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫 번째, 욕망의 축에서 주인공은 선악의 이중성을 드러내며 유사 가족의 돌봄을 욕망하며, 주체와 대상의 관계는 연접에서 이접으로 변화한다. 두 번째, 주체의 축에서 주인공은 적대자로 변모하는 조력자의 육체적 폭력으로 조력자 부재의 현실에 직면하고, 비조력자의 방임과 정서적 폭력으로 힘겨운 상황에 놓인다. 세 번째, 소통의 축에서 수신자인 주인공은 적대자로 변모하는 발신자로 욕망 획득이 불가능해지고, 계약/수행 불일치로 발신자로부터 응징당하면서 욕망 실현이 좌절된다. 탈가정 청소년 영화에서 인물의 관계는 모두 자살(자신 죽이기)과 살인(타인 죽이기)으로 끝난다는 점에서 탈가정 청소년의 열악한 상황을 나타낸다. 주인공은 욕망 대상과의 이접, 조력자의 적대자 변모, 발신자 부재 등의 상황에 놓인다. 이 영화들은 가해자보다는 피해자의 관점, 환상과 현실의 치환, 관계의 폭력성, 익숙함을 낯설게 보기, 육체적 폭력과 정서적 폭력 등의 문제를 제기한다. 탈가정 청소년 영화들은 주인공이 유사 가족의 주거 공간과 돌봄을 욕망하지만 조력자 부재의 현실에 놓이고, 시련이나 시험에 통과하지 못해 욕망이 좌절된다는 점에서 비관적 전망을 보여준다.

영문 초록

The theme of this paper is to specifically analyze the conflict structure of the out-of-family youth that is reproduced in the films. The subjects of the study are six out-of-family youth films, namely “Set Me Free,” “Jane,” “Park Hwa-young,” “Young Adult Matters,” “A life of faithfulness,” and “Han Gong-ju.” The research method is the three axes of axis of desire, axis of subject, and axis of communication in Greimas’s actor model and the six actor confrontations of subject/object, helper/antagonist, and sender/recipient. In this paper, the results of analyzing the conflict structure of the out-of-family youth films using the Greimas’s actor model are as follows. First, on the axis of desire, the protagonist shows the duality of good and evil and desires care by pseudo-family, and the relationship between the subject and the object changes from connection to separation. Second, on the axis of subject, the protagonist faces the real of the absence of a helper due to physical violence of the helper who turns into the antagonist, and is in a difficult situation with neglect and emotional violence of the non-helper. Third, on the axis of communication, the protagonist, who is the recipient, is unable to gain desire due to the sender who turns into the antagonist, and the realization of desire is frustrated as the one is punished by the sender due to the contract/performance inconsistency. In the out-of-family youth films, the relationship between the characters all ends with suicide (killing themselves) and murder (killing others), which shows the bad situation of the out-of-family youth. The protagonist is placed in situations such as disconnecting with the object of desire, the helper who transforms into the antagonist, and an absence of the sender. These films raise issues such as the victim’s point of view rather than the perpetrator, replacement of fantasy and reality, violence in relationships, an unfamiliar view of familiarity, and physical and emotional violence. The out-of-family youth films show a pessimistic outlook in that the protagonist desires the housing space and care of pseudo-family, but is placed in the reality of the absence of a helper, and that the desire is frustrated because the one fails to pass the test or examination.
