국문 초록

<양반전>은 고등학교의『국어』및『문학』관련 교과서에 수록된 고전소설 가운데 가장 많이 실렸던 작품 가운데 하나이다. 그리고 작품이 수록되는 과정에서 서술된 내용은 ‘국문학으로의 인식’,‘실학 사상의 반영’, ‘현실 문제의 다각화’로 세분화된다. 첫째, <양반전>은 한문 표기의 작품이라는 점에서 교과서에 처음 수록되었을 당시에는 국문학의 범주에 포함되지 못하였었다. 이후 국문학의 범주에 대한 개념이 확대되면서, 교과서에서도 국문학 작품으로 인식하는 과정이 드러난다. 둘째, 교과서에 수록된 <양반전>을 설명하는 과정에서 실학 사상은 매우 중시되어 왔다. 이 과정에서 실학을 통한 조선의 내재적 발전에 대한 인식과 근대성에 대한 내용들이 중점적으로 부각되고 있다. 셋째, <양반전>에서 제기하고 있는 현실의 문제는 교과서에 따라 조금씩 달라져 왔다. 양반계층을 비판하는 것에서 양반계층의 각성, 상인계층에 대한 비판과 상인계층의 각성, 양반문서에 대한 관심 등이 다각적으로 제기되어 왔다. 교과서에 수록된 <양반전>의 양상과 특징을 통해, 박지원과 <양반전>에 대한 기존 연구의 시각과 그 변화의 과정을 확인할 수 있다. 그리고 관련 연구가 끊임없이 지속되고 있는 상황에서, 해당 분야의 성과를 주시하고 이를 교과서에 반영하는 것이 필요하다.

영문 초록

“Yangbanjeon" is one of classical novels that were most often included in the Korean language and literary textbooks of high school. When textbooks are compiled, literary works to be included are selected from three different perspectives: whether it can be regarded as Korean literature or not, whether practical science is reflected in it or not, and whether it can help readers to look at reality from diverse angles or not. “Yangbanjeon" hadn't initially been considered to belong to the category of Korean literature when it's first included in a textbook since it was written in Sino-Korean. Afterwards, the sphere of Korean literature was more extended, and this work was included in textbooks as Korean literature. The thought of practical science was considered very important when this work was explained as part of textbooks, and an analysis of this work made it possible to shed light on the internal development of the Joseon Dynasty through practical science and the modernity of that era. There were slight differences among textbooks in the way of dealing with how this work viewed reality. Some textbooks explained that this work criticized the upper classes of old Korea and emphasized the necessity of their awakening, and others criticized the merchant classes and stressed the necessity of their awakening or were concerned with the documents of the upper classes. It's possible to find out the changes of social awareness of Park Ji-won and this work when the aspects and characteristics of this work in textbooks are analyzed, and the way learners look at this work is likely to depend on which textbook their schools choose.
